The Birthwork website is dedicated to celebrating, sustaining, safeguarding and growing natural birth wisdom through creative projects, workshops and performance. Explore the many facets of the site including interviews, testimonials, photo galleries, trailers, book excerpts and info on workshops. The internationally acclaimed products available through this site are independently produced and Australian made.
The term ‘birthwork’ embraces all the different kinds of work and creative effort that mothers and their support people embark upon through childbearing. It acknowledges that birthworkers everywhere have the natural and necessary impulse to nurture mothers and babies, and share their experiences and wisdom. It also transcends the arguments about who should be caring for the mother, and helps us drop into the deeper process of understanding how to truly ‘be’ with birth.
Birthwork Workshops 2013/2014
Part 1 – Eumundi QLD – March 27, 2013 – a 1 day workshop intensive 9am-5pm as a prerequisite to Part 2 in May.
Part 2 – Gympie QLD – May 3-5, 2013 – a 3 day women’s only, workshop intensive beginning 9am on day 1 and ending 5pm on day 3. This workshop is residential.
Part 1 – Melbourne – June 8-10, 2013 – a 3 day intensive 9am – 5pm each day. For midwives, doulas, birth support people and parents to be. This workshop is non-residential.
Part 2 – Melbourne – August 2-4, 2013 – a 3 day women’s workshop intensive beginning 9am – 9pm for the first 2 days, ending 5pm on day 3. This workshop is non-residential.
2014 Bali Retreat: dates to be advised, expressions of interest welcome.
